Government and Academia Award
Jenny Self, The Hutchins School, Sandy Bay
Jenny Self is business manager at one of Australia’s oldest schools, The Hutchins School, an Anglican day and boarding school for boys established in 1846 at Sandy Bay. She has respected input and influence on all executive-level decisions at the school. Responsible to the Headmaster and the School Board for delivering efficient administrative systems and resources to support the school’s teaching, research and community engagement, Jenny is also President of School Business Administrators Tasmania. In collaboration with the Headmaster and Board Chairman, her duties stretch across strategy, financial resources, administrative support, facility maintenance and building projects. Recognised as a great leader, Jenny’s ability to prioritise and multi-task allows her to meet the challenge of driving so many varied tasks to a successful conclusion. Her proudest achievement is her involvement in creating the school’s inaugural fundraising plan.
The judges said Ms Self demonstrated commitment to engineering fundamental organisational change.
On behalf of all ASBA members, I congratulate Jenny on being honoured with this prestigious award.
